Retrofit Hoodie is based on hooded sweatshirts from the 1930s and 1940s, reinterpreted with a thermal lining and carefully studied vintage details. The design reproduces the thin, stretched, and relaxed ribbing found on original pieces, along with irregular pocket shapes, a V-neck gusset, and a small hood that sits close to the neck rather than covering the head. Proportions and surface fading around the retrofitted areas are intentionally uneven, reflecting the wear and alteration seen on archival garments. The outer fabric is a hanging fleece developed through analysis of vintage examples and knitted at an extremely slow pace to avoid stress on the yarn, resulting in a dense yet soft structure with a fluffy hand. The thermal lining is similarly based on period references. Each garment is finished by hand to express subtle variations in colour, wear, and surface texture, with natural differences from piece to piece considered part of the design.
