The Bode Rec. and Nike Astrograbber reimagines one of Nike’s first waffle-soled shoes: the Astrograbber, which was developed in response to the invention of artificial turf in the 1960s. The waffle sole emerged from the work of famed coach and Nike co-founder Bill Bowerman, who experimented by pouring rubber into a waffle-maker to improve traction for his student athletes. Textile mesh upper, suede details, and a tonal leather Swoosh.

The football charm included with the shoe is a historical reproduction of commemorative charms from the 1930s-1940s, originally given to members of high school and collegiate teams.
